Season 17, Week 3
Izlude Tingel
(Final Fantasy Tactics)

Though Izlude has yet to beat a spell-casting foe, this time he faces a mage with no buffing, healing, or status - making this a straight-out slugfest. And while his own Counter skill will be useless, he can jump to avoid Nino's own counters, and his skill with the blade means that his foes evasive nature is worth nothing. And so Izlude ventures forth, once more to prove that Nino is no match for St. Murond Temple's Shrine Knights.

Having already faced a three-eyed space alien, Nino should be ready for anything this season. However, there are few opponents quite like Izlude. This may well work to Nino's advantage, though; a man as noble as Izlude will likely stuggle to bring himself to strike a little girl, even in a well-moderated duel. Nino has a excellent chance of coming away with yet another victory, bringing her one giant step closer to bringing home Fire Emblem's second championship.

Since Alma was nowhere to be seen, Izlude decided to do the next best thing and kidnap Nino instead. Under cover of darkness his squad of Shrine Knights rode into the outskirts of Pherae and surrounded Nino's house.

"Let go of me! Help!" Nino cried, barefoot in her nightgown as Izlude dragged her outside and started hoisting her onto his chocobo.

"Be quiet! Do as I say!" Izlude yelled.

Suddenly there was rustling in the bushes, and Captain Fargus and his pirate crew emerged to surround the Ivalicians.

"Yaar!" said one of the pirates. "There's the scurvy landlubber who sent our matey Dart to Davey Jones' locker! And look what kind of mischief he's up to now!"

"Looks like Matthew's tip paid off!" Fargus snarled, slamming his axe down so hard the ground shook. "Allright, ye salty sea-dogs! Let's get these noseless freaks!"

Yelling like demons, the pirates fell upon Izlude's squad. Within minutes all the Shrine Knights were dead, save for Izlude, who knelt bloodied and awaited Fargus' killing blow.

"Wait! Don't kill him!" Nino shouted as Fargus raised his axe. She ran to Izlude and threw her arms around him. "I love him! He's not evil... he's really kind and gentle! You don't know him like I do!"

"Huh?" Izlude said.

"What?" Fargus said. "Girl, now I know kidnap victims sometimes begin to sympathise with their kidnappers, but this is ridiculous! Ah well. Guess there's only one thing left to do."

"...Nino." Jaffar said quietly. Never having been placed next to Nino long enough by the Tactician to get an A support, he had been protecting her from the shadows. Turning, he carefully slipped away, for he was no longer needed here.

And so a bound and gagged Izlude was carried away to the pirates' ship, where Fargus, as ship's captain would officiate his wedding with Nino.

After their wedding and adventure-filled honeymoon, Izlude and Nino were blessed with twin boys. They lived happily together until assassins came looking for Nino. To protect her family, Nino dissapeared. Therefore she didn't show up for the match, and Izlude was declared the winner by default.
