Odessa is quite comparable to an artistic statue, that's for sure. A stunning young woman, martyred for the cause of freedom. She'll look perfect as a lawn ornament in front of Palom's dorms... what, did you expect the Mystian prodigy to be nice? Palom's gift of gab and magicks are equally impressive compared to Odessa's pathos. He won't get much more than a (rather painful!) slap from Odessa with his mouth, but his various status attacks sure as hell will get a cruel reaction. The only thing Palom has to fear besides meeting Flik in a dark alley is Odessa's Wind of Sleep spell. Good thing that Palom's an evasive little bugger to status, and Odessa can claim no such thing against Palom's own hellish ailments.

Where the Swordsman of Rage was perhaps too familiar for the young rebel, Odessa faces something new here; a pint-sized, foulmouthed, absolute brat of a mage. While Odessa has a noted soft spot for children, Palom is well known for pushing even the most patient to their limit, almost as if it was all part of some battle strategy. But such a childish maneuver will serve Odessa well here. Always get in the first word, let them see an ominous Storm on the horizon, be sure to blend healing words in with the Shredding, and if all else fails, remember they'll need to sleep before you will. The Wind Rune makes this advice perhaps a little more literal, but as with any child, you have to go with what works.

One reading of FF4's script and Palom's legendary but never quite sourced fire rod comment gives Odessa an excellent frame of reference for this fight. She could fight and try to outlast Palom (Bad idea), or try to kill him with a single spell or physical(Better idea).
No, what Odessa will do is put the little tyke to sleep and administer something well past due. "You're deserve a spanking!" is Mystere's line, but it'll be borrowed and put to good use here as Odessa jumps Palom, smacks the perverted out of him, and washes his mouth out for good measure.
Palom: 19
Odessa Silverberg: 31
