The Mage-General of Etruria has waited fourteen seasons for his first shot in the arena, and he's ready as ever. However, Pent's not fired up for some mundane reason like honour or glory. No. His opponent is Zidane Tribal, the RPGDL's premier troublemaker scum, who must be set straight. Also, the Genome probably put the moves on Louise at some point. Yes, Pent has every reason to win this fight, and the means as well - his high resistance allows him to laugh off Zidane's Soul Blade, while throwing punishing fire and thunder blasts. Fire Emblem shall continue its tradition of greatness in Middle, and Zidane, his tradition of failure.

Concerned mothers, lock up your sweet little daughters. The lecherous thief Zidane is back to action and rarin' to go - both at his enemies and at the beautiful ladies! While the opposite sex may be his passion, the fluffy-haired Genome is always ready to take the arena by storm. His incredibly accurate Soul Blade will make the life of magician general Pent a living hell, and Zidane's elemental resists will provide backup just in case. Zidane hopes that he’ll lucky in more than love this season, and easy matches like this present a good omen. Pent should just consider himself blessed: Zidane is only stealing a win, not his wife.

Charmles chortled with glee. "This opponent of yours has a va -voom- wife, and no protection against your Soul Blade status attacks. It's a perfect chance to spread our message.
Sten sat quietly in the backround. "We owe so many people. Max's Shining Force, Edge, Sephiroth. Our change for vengence is at hand, and who better than our leader to spread our message?"
"..You know what? I'm out. Sorry, but I have more relavant things to attend to than watching you all get me killed. Again." Cray walked out without another word.
.."On that note! We have a new member. Welcome Irvine Kinneas to the group!" Zidane smiled, and brought out the gunner. "Thanks for the warm welcome, boys. I've been watching your glorious struggle from afar. It's time for me to throw my hat into the ring. I'm a great planner and as reliable a sniper as it gets." Irvine quickly sat down with the rest, as Zidane cleared his voice.
"Okay. It's time to head out to ring. Sten and Valygar, provide security! Charmles, head up to the seats and bribe us into the front row. Irvine and Zeon, stay here and plan our next move. For now.. it's time for my appearance!"

Zidane kicked Pent's frozen corpse to the ground. "Loser." It was a quick fight, just as everyone predicted. The master Sage had no defense against Soul Blade. He struttled over to Louise, who was standing over Pent's fallen body. "Hey, baby. Forget about that loser. He's old news, and I'll be middle champ soon."
Zidane just scratched his head when Louise ignored him, trying to tend to Pent. Shrugging, he just walked off, chatting with Charmles and the rest about his plan for next week.
---
"..Pent.." A gentle tapping on her shoulder stopped her sobbing. "Hey. I've brought a healer for Pent. It's no problem at all. Could you just give Pent this note afterwards? " With a tearful nod, Louise got up anEdge waited for Esuna to undo the damage of Soul Blade.
---
Pent finished watching the clip of the fight provided by the TimeRecord spell. "..He hit on my wife after?" Pent's face was a cold mask of fury. "You need my help in putting down that idiot, eh? You've got it." Edge merely grinned, and shook Pent's hand.
"I'm afraid Yuri and Lexis are a little busy this season, so it'll be just us for the most part. I do have a plan to deal with Zidane and his band of flunkies, though.."

Pent knew he stood no chance against Zidane. The genome was faster and he had no way of surviving a round 1 lethal status. So what does the Magic General do?
Well, no sooner when Zidane began to use his Soul Blade technique to petrify Pent the whole arena was literally bombarded by a series of magicks. The judges actually had to rewatch the replays to determine which occured first: Zidane being nuked or Pent being turned to stone? Turns out that thanks to being Petrified, Pent couldn't feel the resulting impact of the assorted magic assault, although he was 'knocked out of commission first'.
After the battle, a couple of mages restored Pent's condition. Apparantly, a few days before the battle began, he and Louise had managed to convince more than half of Godlike and Heavy's ranked fighters into bombing the arena when the match started. Being a mage general and soon-to-be father had amazing influence. Upon learning that Zidane was to participate in the match, well, word got around. And soon, the stadium was completely filled for even a match that seemed so obvious. More so than the couple had originally expected.
Pent's doing fine now. He plans to see Lady Yuna in her off season with his wife at a later date. As for Zidane? Well, its been over a week, and so far, they've only found a knife and a pizza box as they were reconstructing the arena.
MORAL OF THIS STORY: Even when Zidane manages to win, he STILL fails.

Zidane pulls off a win against Pent, he's just to fly and hip for Pent to handle, and so Zidane dances wearing a Rosetta ring being on fire, while "Zidane, Zidane, Zidane is on fire!" "Zidane back again!" and "go Zidane go Zidane go Zidane go!" are all played during the match, with his smooth moves he goes into trance and grand lethal's out Pent like it was nothing."
Ralff
Pent's quite possibly the worst Sage in Fire Emblem. Zidane's the main character of Final Fantasy. Easy choice, here.
