Season 33, Week 2
Kahn Marley
(Suikoden II)

Before there was Buffy, there was...Kahn. He brings old-fashioned vampire-slaying skills to the arena, skills that even Buffy and Faith can't match! His trusty blade is the bane of all undead, and his divine Resurrection Rune allows him to call upon purifying powers. Against Paula, another Suikoden warrior, Kahn will have a field day - the elf knight's Wind Rune, while providing a significant amount of healing power, lacks in the offensive categories. Kahn's blade will pierce the frail elf's armor in a heartbeat, and with a finishing strike from his Tiger Champion Charm Arrow, Kahn shall easily emerge victorious.

Wind Rune in hand, Paula faces off with a fellow Star of Destiny, albeit one from a different era, this one being the Ressurection Rune wielding Vampire Hunter Kahn Mahlay! Of course, that means little to Paula, since she's not a vampire, let alone any sort of undead at all. That being the case, there's no real reason to fear her opponent here. Simple repeated castings of Healing Wind, Winds of Sleep, The Shredding, and Funeral Winds will be more than enough to show her undead slaying foe that fighting living opponents is a whole different ballgame than doing battle with the living dead.

Kahn's a vampire hunter on par with the legendary Belmont clan. Fearless and brave, he packs a rune perfectly suited to smiting the undead. Despite heated claims from many in the arena, including esteemed godlikes such as Luca Blight and Ghaleon, 'puny little Vulcanlike elves' do not not count as evil beings sworn to serve darkness.

Kahn getting beaten by Wind of Sleep and puny elvish physical may have been embarassing, but getting laughed out of the Vampires Hunter club the day after was just bloody unneeded.

Kahn Marley: 31
Paula: 35
