Season 56, Week 2
Margarete Zelle
(Shadow Hearts)

While she may be famed for her skills as a spy and seductress, Margarete Zelle - or Mata Hari as she is sometimes know - still packs a mean punch. While the DL may not allow her to utilize her strongest assets, she’s no pushover in a fight! Lance may be a king of a country, but he'll have trouble handling Margarete’s advanced technology. Snipe’s accurate Instant Death should cause Lance royal (pun intended) fits, and Margarete’s swiftness, strong constitution, and surprisingly strong insulation against fire should give her plenty of chances for it to hit! Assuming of course, that she doesn’t decide to put those seductive skill to test against a prettyboy King…

New Almekia's crown prince has done much to prove both his own honor and that of his country - just not in the arena. A tough loss to Mirage Koas and a downgrade haven't covered Lance in glory - in fact, quite the opposite! But the honorable prince is looking to turn that around by beating up a spy. Lance boasts good stats across the board and high resistance to status attacks, making Margarete's obnoxious snipe techniques ineffective, and her best damage is also resisted by Lance, while Lance's own deadly physicals will hurt her badly. Everything is in Lance's favor, making victory as easy as kicking Vaynard's ass on the battlefield!

Djinn
Lance was an idealistic prince. He knew of Margarete's less-than-honorable past as a treacherous spy, but he wanted to believe that, here in the tournament, we would see a fair fight.

As they walked into the arena, Lance was surprised at how lightly-armored she was. Surely she knew that he would bring his sword to this match?

Perhaps it was best not to underestimate her, though? He knew first-hand that women fighters were often skilled at Holy magic. And many were even more skilled summoners of great dragons or swift wolves.

However, he was a bit puzzled by Margarete's summoning ritual. She pulled out a strange metal bauble and pressed it to her ear before chanting some unusual magic words.

The horrid metal monster that rained fire and explosions from the sky was more than enough to convince Lance that Margarete's summoning abilities were more advanced than his.

He and his Salamander decided to go home.
