The Lion-hearted leader of Balamb Garden goes up against the White Wolf of Norgard this week. Unlike his foe, Squall goes into the match with nothing to back him but his skill with a blade. However, he doesn't need much more, as the gunblade's perfect accuracy and guaranteed critical rate should compensate for Vaynard's counters. And should things turn against him, he has a powerful last-ditch resort in the form of his limit break Renzokuken, with the possibility of landing a Lionheart to finish his frigid foe. |

Norgard's legendary White Wolf makes his first appearance in the area against the angst-filled teenage hero of FF8, Squall. Bringing an expertly balanced assault to the ring, Vaynard's powerful physical and counter-attacks are complemented by potent ice magic. He'll have to strike swiftly and true, though, for even his prowess won't do much against Squall's devastating high-end limit breaks. Will he be able to defeat the SeeD before he gets torn apart? |
Dunefar Lionheart against Caladbolg. The White Wolf agaisnt a SeeD. Fairly close battle, right? Sure...except that because Vaynard counters each attack, Squall is taking two hits to each one of his. A damn shame that last counter killed him just before he got his limit Squall Leonheart: 9 Laggy
