Season 25, Week 1
Midboss
(Disgaea: Hour of Darkness)

The Dark Adonis Vyers, rightful Overlord of the Netherworld, has returned to combat! His...ugh...first opponent is obviously unworthy to stand in the Arena at the same time as Vyers based on appearance alone, never mind combat ability. It's a mercy for Amarant Coral that that ridiculous hair and blue skin will be quickly and completely destroyed by the force of Adonic Buster, leaving Vyers free to pursue his dreams of total power on a new stage. And if he can't become Overlord in this world, then the title of "Champion" will have to suffice.

Amarant's in for a laugh here. A mid-boss? His opponent? Well, at least this is a capable mid-boss. Still, Amarant's strategy isn't complicated. Even if No Mercy or repeated thrown weapons to Mid-Boss' pretty face won't drive him out of the ring, Amarant has one large advantage here. His opponent has finite resources; Chakra is infinite. It's a viable strategy for him to simply out-heal his opponent to victory. Either way, Amarant's out to prove that the Dark Adonis really is just another mid-boss, a weak opponent barring his way to the top.

Midboss is a crafty one.

Sort of.

He challenged his opponent to a simple match.

Ring out wins. Tie declared if one or the other of them became unconcious, or if both landed out at the same time.

The idea was simple. Use his powerful physique to simply lift his opponent and pitch him out of the arena.

Well, it worked for his enemies as a battle tactic.

Unfortunately, he forgot something.

His enemy can pick things up and throw them.

As, in fact, he promptly did to Midboss.

Undaunted, Midboss used his brilliant mind to strike at Amarant the only way he had left.

Quickly, he grabbed Amarant, pulling him airborne with him, and used his excellent willpower to do the only thing that could win the match for him at this point.

He fainted, just before hitting the ground in the stands.

Amarant didn't quite get why until the judges declared him the loser.

You see, Midboss had said or.

If one person is unconcious or if both are rung out at the same time.

No provision was made for both happening. So, technically, he'd won; His action was the last action in the match, and it had removed his opponent from the ring. And Amarant landed first. Clear victory.

However, it was a hollow victory for the magnificent Dark Adonis.

Not only had his clever scheme not worked the way he planned, shaming him horribly, he'd landed on on Kefka.

As Midboss ran at high speed out of the arena, an insane, madly cackling clown chasing him, he lamented that true genious is never really appreciated in this world.

Midboss: 73
Amarant Coral: 47

Midboss wins just on account of that one special move he has that looks soooo cool, the one where he splits into 4 and combos with himself on the enemy. That, or Amarant's Chakra can't keep up with Midboss's attacks. Either way is fine.

With an arrogant, not to mention stylish, step, Vyers, the Dark Adonis, entered the arena. His opponent? An emaciated gorilla with a 'fro. This was looking to be the single easiest fight that Vyers has ever faced.

As Amarant Coral steped into the ring, Midboss decided to start this one off right, with a bit of proper taunting. "So THIS is to be my opponent? Do you know who I am, you overgrown monkey? No? Well, I am the Da..."

As was ever his fate, the self proclaimed Dark Adonis got sut off mid speach by Etna and Laharl. "Come on Midboss, you can take him! Third time's a charm!"

Spinning to glare at his pair of child tormentors, Midboss wa about to give them a scathing rebuke when he got hit in the head by a Wing Edge. "You here to fight or talk?"

It was all downhill from there. Eyes red with rage(and blood from that nasty Wing Edge wound), Midboss launched Adonic Buster after Adonic Buster at his mortal opponent, but few even landed, and the ones that did were quickly recovered from with a few Chakras and Auras. Finnaly, as the Dark Adonis began to gather his strength for one more shot....he realized that he was out of juice.

Seeing the look of realization on Midboss' face, Amarant stood up to his full height and cracked his knuckles, "'Bout time."

And at that, Midboss ran out of the ring as fast as he could, shouting something about his opponent not being worthy of the honor of fighting him or something like that.
