Season 25, Week 2
Strago Magus
(Final Fantasy VI)

This match is about as slugfest as Middle matches go. Kraken's going to have to focus on his physicals and offensive magic, while Strago uses his hard-hitting Lores. Grand Train, unsurprisingly, hits as hard as the name advertises, and White Wind takes care of any damage issues stemming from durability. Kraken, meanwhile, can't overcome Strago's healing and the Ink status does nothing at all to slow Strago's onslaught. Strago's not going to have any trouble putting away this oversized sea slug.

The last of his brethren to get a match, Kraken slithers into the RPGDL Arena in good shape to match the success of the other fiends. His opponent Strago has a strategy that plays perfectly into Kraken's tentacles. Kraken's standard boss immunities nullify all the status inflicted by Strago's trademark Sour Mouth attack, and Kraken's powerful physical will easily let him outslug a slow, frail old man with mediocre offense. This will be a sure beginning to the second domination of Middle by one of the four fiends.

Grefter
Strago was set for this match. He had years of extensive research into just this kind of opponent and knew exactly how to beat him. This would be the easiest match he had ever had as a duellist.

Come match day Strago walked into the Arena and informed Kraken that he was a big fan, but he knew his weakness and just how to exploit it. For his sake and everyone else in the Arena it would be for the best if Kraken just forfeited outright. This happened.

It is really quite simple to deduce exactly what the threat was. Ugly old men are the complete antithesis of everything a Tentacle Monster desires. Strago knew this because he has all of Kraken's movies after all.

Strago Magus: 49
