Season 34, Week 3
Frog
(Chrono Trigger)

‘Tis a pity when good-doers must face each off in the arena, but such is the nature of the game. While many would despair at this cruel whim of fate that pits hero against heroine, Frog knows better. For just as good must lose in this battle, so must good win, no matter the outcome. Thusly, with a clean conscience, he raises his sword to fight! And fight valiantly he will, thanks to his powerful Masamune sword and his skill at both swordplay and healing magic! With his Vigil Hat to block Elena's attempts at status, his resistance to Ice giving him an edge against her magic, and a handy Cure 2 spell to replenish his own life as needed, the amphibious knight is all set to slug it out in what will most certainly be a grueling battle of attrition. And with everything he has experienced, there are few better equipped for such battles than Frog.

Being the nicer side of the same Valmar-imbued coin, it's just fitting that Elena moved onto the second round alongside her far less pleasant half Millenia. Elena is determined to match the Valmar's beauty and strength despite being in a lower division - after all, one of them must touch Ryudo's hardened heart! After beating the powerful, yet brawnless Milda, Elena faces an opponent much similar to herself - albeit clearly inferior. The retainer Frog sports plentiful healing and status immunity, much like the Sister of Granas. However, with her variety of buffs such as Speedy, Diggin' and WOW!, alongside notably better damage, Elena is in great shape to win. The Guardia Retainer, sad as it may be, is just bound to end as roadkill to the might of White Apocalypse.

SageAcrin
The beautiful, shy girl.

The man, changed into a hideous frog.

Everyone knows how these stories go.

"...what!? No! I hate frogs! I thought it was just a figure of speech, a weird name! EYAAAAAA!" Elena shrieked, as she rapidly cast spell after spell, blasting Frog with an impressive chained assault.

Actually, this was exactly what Frog wanted to have happen. A clever strategist, he'd noted that this was a simple attrition fight. Elena was running out of gas.

Elena knew that, too, but this was a giant talking frog.

However, sometimes, dumb luck gets us all.

For, as the parrying, defending, healing Frog was forced over to the arena edge, Quina reached down, grabbed him, and stuffed half of his body into his/her mouth.

This isn't the dumb luck part, not when Quina's been waiting for this chance since the first moment s/he saw Frog.

The dumb luck involved Quina spitting out the rapidly-stabbing Frog into the stands, for a ringout.

Of course, interference was called, but after much thought, it was determined to not be Elena's fault Frog is, in fact, a frog. (To Elena's great relief.) It wasn't fair to her to call the match against her for what Quina did.

So, ultimately, another frog is doomed due to Quina's actions. Quite normal, really.

The only real difference is the part where Frog offered to let Quina eat the world's largest frog, casting Frog Squash to show it to him/her.

The resulting attempt to eat it whole made League medical history. Quina now holds the record for largest object eaten whole in the entire League-well, the man-sized part of it, at any rate. Despite the inability to get through doors-or out of the arena-Quina's pretty happy about this.

It wasn't until the fourth one that Frog finally managed to kill Quina like this. He decided to give up trying to kill Quina-it clearly wasn't worth the effort.

On the upside, Quina's not after Frog anymore. Food dispensers are more useful than food.
