Season 39, Week 2
Kurtis
(Disgaea: Hour of Darkness)

It's been a long time since Kurtis graced the arena with his presence--far too long, in fact. Being the Defender of Earth does keep a man (or penguin) busy, but with his perpetual rival Gordon completely failing to do the title justice in the Duelling League, Kurtis is clearly due to take a little time off to step into the ring and break some faces (for Goodness!). His opponent this week is the Man in Pink himself, Ragnar. It might seem like a cute match at first--diabolical Prinny vs. bright pink armor?--but this is going to be an all-out slugfest. Fortunately, Kurtis is amply suited to win these: with the power of SCIENCE on his side, he can ignore Ragnar's physical defense with Nuclear Fusion, and every strike the soldier deals will be met in kind with a counter. This Defender of Earth certainly won't lose here!

Kurtis may be a tiny little penguin, but don't forget that Rangar hails from the long line of Dragon Quest games. With many years of killing adorable little slimes and bats under his belt, the pink-armored DL veteran is sure to be immune to the overall cuteness of his opponent. And in the battle-field, he's sure to reign victorious! Ragnar's superior durability will do well to keep him safe from Kurtis's various techniques. In addition, his own attacks will cut huge swaths out of Kurtis's subpar HP. Kurtis's average speed will also mean that he won't get much in the way of double-turns, which is good news for the sluggish Ragnar. In such a clash of titans, the outcome is never entirely sure, but Ragnar has the edge in this fight, and should be very confident of appearing in the Middle Quarterfinals matches!

Kurtis explodes when thrown.

Ragnar does not explode when thrown.

However, Ragnar does explode when a Pringer Beam is shoved into his face. Fancy that!
