For a pokemon, few things are more important than the type chart, and for the second straight week, the chart is decidedly in the favour of fiery fighting fowl Blaziken. Sure, Kurtis may not take extra damage from his Blaze Kick and Flamethrower, but the Defender of Earth slash Penguin is reliant on fire to do damage himself, something which will serve him poorly against his pokemon opponent. With Nuclear Fusion out of the picture, it's a simple match for Blaziken: Bulk Up once or twice if need be, then use his superior speed and power to give the Defender a big, flaming kick... straight back to Earth! |

After felling Ragnar, a brave and noble warrior, Kurtis, Defender of Earth, faces... a fighting, flaming chicken. Irony gods, you still smile wickedly down upon this noble face? This match is overwhelmingly in Kurtis' favor, regardless: his powerful fighting techniques surpass Blaziken's own, and his durability will allow him to take what blows come his way, something Blaziken certainly can't say. And if the chicken tries to close for a melee assault? Hah. Counters and Final Punch will end this easily. For Earth, Kurtis, noble hero, shall fight to the bitter end against these bird... fighter... things! |
Gatewalker Let's look things over here: Blaziken-Best attacks are Fire Based Kurtis-Best attacks are Fire Based Blaziken-resists Fire Kurtis-Does not resist Fire. Point-Blaziken. Kurtis-Has somewhat powerful Counters against melee attacks. Blaziken-Best damage is non-contact, won't trigger counters. Point-Blaziken. Blaziken-Can use Bulk Up to reduce the hit from Kurtis' non-fire attacks as well as make Sky Uppercut hit harder then Flamethrower Kurtis-Has no buffing ability at all.
