Grandia 3's planophile protagonist may not be as 'cool' as Vincent Valentine of FF7 fame, according to the fangirls and boys of the universe, but the blue-haired, spunky youth is more than up to the task of beating him down in a straight up fight and possibly stealing some of his fans in the meantime. After slaying foes as emo and awe-inspiring as Emelious and Xorn, the trench coat sporting Vincent won’t even register as a warm-up exercise this week. You can’t hurt what you can’t hit, and the perfect evade granted by Yuki's Flash will keep Vincent from doing anything but hitting air, even if he could transform into one of his ineffective monster forms to smack him. Dragon Slash will ensure that even those forms don’t see the light of day. With all that going for him, Yuki's first match won’t be hard, but at least he’ll get to put on a good show for Alfina as he trounces the prettyboy in no time.

Bad idea: Bringing a sword to a gunfight. This so happens to be the battle strategy of Vincent's opponent this week, as Yuki will go against the oft-repeated proverb with a single-minded enthusiasm which can only be excused by his youth. Good idea: Bringing the dreadful ability to turn into a superhuman monster to a gunfight. This, in turn, is Vincent's strategy. Yuki lacks any way to deal overwhelming damage in a single blow, which ensures that Vincent will live long enough to turn into the dreaded Death Gigas. Doubling his vitailty as well as increasing his ability to shrug off physical punishment, this transformation will be Yuki's bane, sorely taxing his already limited SP reserves. A few Gigadunks, added on top of the gunfire Vincent will subject Yuki to early in the match, will show up Yuki's poor strategy, and demonstrate why Vincent Valentine was once, and will be again, a Heavy.

In an emo-off! Well, none of the judges were really sure what that would entail, but apparentally it involved many sharp cutting tools, whiny music, and many cries of despair. Yuki gave it his best shot, but Vincent was crafted in the form of an emo vampiric god. The Valentine easily won the emo contest...and subsequently lost the match by the laws of nature stating that emos automatically lose.
Yuki: 34
Vincent Valentine: 23

You know, Vincent could probably be Yuki's father. Just imagine those family gatherings! The freakishly mutated father who barely speaks, the mother who looks like she's 16, and the kid who babbles about airplanes and hooks up with Alfina.
...
You know, perhaps we don't give Miranda enough credit for running screaming from all males. First Vincent, then Alonso? Dear god, Yuki'd have thrown himself out of a plane if he had to endure those kind of father 'figures' for long. So mercifully, instead of a possible father vs son battle, we get to see Yuki thrash some weirdo with long hair and a gun in at least a semi entertaining fashion.
