Season 43, Week 1
Alice Elliot
(Shadow Hearts)

Her trusty book of spells has already seen Alice to one Middle championship, and it surely still has enough tricks left to do it a second time. Of course, against Gares, Alice likely won’t need to do anything differently than before. Her brutish opponent isn’t exactly the most fearsome, especially to a mage who fears neither physical attacks nor darkness. As if halving all of Gares’ unimpressive damage wasn’t enough, the son of Endora also cowers in complete fear at the sight of any Holy damage. Advent is normally solid damage, but against Gares it will turn into a Holy nuclear bomb. With both her defensive and offensive strengths higher than ever before, Alice will be sure to emerge victorious.

Attack, attack, attack, attack! Prince Gares is well trained in the art of unrelenting offense and is a warrior beyond most. This will serve him well against Alice, for his plan should be the epitome of "simple but effective." Hit her (with an axe!) and keep on hitting her - don't get Alice a chance to go on the offensive, render her nothing but a healer who has her very sanity slipping away, a little bit each round. Once her mind snaps under the strain of combat, Gares will have this victory in the bag. A few solid ax strikes will put Alice down for the count and let Gares advance to the second round of Middle. After all, some girl with a book can't stand against the power of a Dark Prince, can she?

Gares now has the notable distinction of being a black knight who has gotten his ass kicked by fairies, angels, and now a little panty-shotting holy-magic girl.

The moral?

Gares is looking for a new job.

They wouldn't hire him for the McDonalds job, but he's still waiting to hear back from the janitorial service!
