Oh, this is rich. Huxley's never been much of a fighter, and the only way for Huxley to get any kind of attack magic is to lay down his Archbishop's robes and take the field as a ninja. But even a geriatric ninja is perfectly matched against the lance-wielding king of Basil. How? Let’s go down the list. Albert is incredibly weak against magic, and doubly so when the magic is earth-elemental; well, one of the first spells any Monk learns is Rock Storm. Albert needs to hit with physical attacks to gain access to his Dragoon powers? It just so happens that Huxley has Perfect Guard, which allows him to block unerringly and counter with his own claw strikes. True, Albert’s strong enough to finish an old man pretty quickly if he can get a hit in – but Huxley’s got all the tools he needs to make sure that never happens.

Not to be outdone by his teammate Rose in Heavy, Albert comes as LoD’s representative in this season’s Middle division, determined not to be outdone when it comes to proving his worth in the arena. With great physical damage and the godly Rose Storm as well as solid wind magic, Albert is packing quite the arsenal to rip through piddly Middle opponents and claim the championship throne that is rightfully his. After all, he is royalty; the top spot was practically made for him. Nothing is going to stand in his way; especially not some frail old man that Albert finds himself facing as his first opponent. Due to his already naturally high HP and defense, Rose Storm adds insult to injury as Albert cripples Huxley’s pathetic attempts at damage. Albert’s not even getting scratched, here; this one’s definitely in the bag.

"Ha! Gust of Wind Dance!"
"Hmph. Like you can defeat me that easily!"
The crowd was silent, peering anxiously.
The match fascinated them.
What was so strange about it?
---
"You know, that's pretty mean of you." Ash noted.
"Ehhhh, come on now, you wouldn't ruin an old man's fun." Haschel chuckled.
"But won't the crowd get mad when they realized neither of them's a cardboard cutout and that they can't win the bet anyways?"
"Ehhh. I'll pay off if they guess it's neither. Not like that's likely. And look at how happy they are! They'd never get this kind of attention any other way." Haschel chuckled as Huxley, unable to fight against Albert's brilliant spearwork, slumped to the ground.
No one ever did guess correctly.
Lots of people guessed "both", though.
Huxley Hobbes: 13
Albert Serdio: 25
