Having managed to win her way back into Middle, Cleo's looking to avoid going back to the downgrade pool and deal with the debris that is Light all over again. And all she has to do to avoid that is to take down Alhazad and whatever he might have to throw at her. Really, how hard can it be to take down a boss who's not even good enough for Heavy? Her Fire Rune specializes in area attacks, making the Metal Demon's defenses useless, and her natural speed, agility, and toughness will let her easily endure any attack sent her way and let her retain her rightful place in Middle - and, perhaps, even dream of further ascents from her former ceiling.

Here's a riddle for you. What is large, puffy, white and fights people with energy weapons? No, it's not the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man, but good guess! It's everyone's favorite floating sadist, Alhazad! Despite doing quite well in the villain department, his Middle career hasn't taken off. Hopefully he can urn that around as he faces last year's Light Champion, Cleo. She's a firebrand, literally, but it's not going to stop good ol' Al from laying the smackdown on her with Alhazad Symphony. After all, as a Metal Demon, he's a wonderful conductor! With Cleo's flame attacks getting halved, it'll be rough going for her, leaving Alhazad to float his way to the next round.

Perhaps it would be Alhazad's resistance to fire that would win him this match?
Nope.
His mighty Super Transmitted Mega Blast?
No. I mean, come on, how can you win with something with a name like that?
(Of course, one might argue that you can't possibly lose with something like that, but if so, it's a form of higher truth.)
No, Alhazad literally did nothing.
It turns out that this was a good course of action. After ten solid minutes of poking at Alhazad, trying to figure out what the hell his demon form was, Cleo told the judges she was going to leave until her opponent came in, and walked out too quickly for the stunned and bored judges to react.
And to think, Cleo's still not sure what he is.
Well, neither am I.
Cleo: 13
Alhazad: 35
