Season 7, Week 1
Tifa Lockheart
(Final Fantasy VII)

Nibelheim resident and martial artist Tifa Lockheart is in for a tough fight this week. Despite her excellent speed and strength, she's up against an opponent who can nearly nullify her main means of damage through defence-boosting spells. Cristo's stat-boosting and healing is too effective for Tifa to hope for a quick win, but if she's lucky, her opponent's own pathetic attacks will be his undoing. Cristo is one of the least likely Middles to avoid her deadly finisher, the Limit Break eclipsed in damage only by Omnislash - the full Final Heaven combo. The only question is, can he survive it?

At first glance, Cristo is screwed. His opponent has no spells to be silenced, possesses a perfect hit weapon that would ignore his blind, and is immune to his instant death. But where statuses fail, sheer durability takes over. His naturally defense combined with a few castings of Upper (his stacking, defense raising spell) will leave Tifa unable to damage him. HealAll is merely icing on the cake. Though it will take years to take Tifa down with physicals, he has this match in the bag. That is, unless he becomes distracted by his opponent's... "features".

Cristo's far from being what one would call an offensive powerhouse, but he sure is good at taking abuse. Having survived the position of Alena's whipping boy over all these years, what right-minded person would think he'd even flinch at Tifa's flurry of blows? Several thwacks from his weapon and a fewcastings of Upper later, Cristo moves on, while Tifa is left wondering if she should have worn her orthopedic undies.
