Zenthor Chris lay on her back, bruised and on the brink of defeat. The True Water Rune failed to stop him, and the Phoenix rune failed to get past his flight. The Zexen knight looked up at the man in blue hovering over her, breathing deeply. “There is no escape. Don't make me destroy you. You do not yet realize your importance. You have only begun to discover you power. Join me and I will complete your training. With our combined strength, we can end this destructive conflict and bring order to the Duelling League,” Virgil reached his hand out to Chris. “I'll never join you!” she screamed back. “Oh, If you only knew the power of the dark side. Salome never told you what happened to your father.” Chris remained silent, now puzzled. Virgil clenched his hand. “Chris! I am your father!” “No. No. That's not true! That's impossible!” Chris screamed in shocked disbelief. “Search your feelings. You know it to be true.” “No! No! No! It can’t be! My father’s sitting right over there!” Chris pointed out into the stands were, sure enough, Jimba was sitting. “Oh. So he is. Too bad for you, really. You would have made a fine addition to our squad. ‘The Woman in Silver’, you would have been. But nooo, you just had to have a father already.” Virgil shook his head before firing off the finishing ether blast. With that, Virgil floated out of the arena to the glorious fanfare of victory. Luis Virgil: 35 SageAcrin Exdeath is a destructive....tree. His plan for this match was simple enough. Use the same tech over and over again until it turned his opponent to stone. Deis is an ancient, wise sorceress. Her idea of a good way to win a match is to analyze the opponent's weaknesses....and, as it turns out, almost every enemy in Exdeath's world has one....Excluding Exdeath himself. Supposedly. However, logically, rules of one world can't be broken so easily...yet he was clearly not weak to anything common. Deis' research eventually paid off... ...As she walked into the arena, pulled out a microphone, and started singing "1000 Words". Turns out that Exdeaths weakness is pop music. As the crowd watch, Exdeath shuddered, then exploded into a massive cloud of splinters. The Spice Gulls(A band consisting of Rikku, Yuna, Precis, and Selphie.) later tried to sign Deis up. Sadly, they were in for a shocking rejection... Deis: 33 AAA Despite Suikodens high number of less than powerful characters, this match gives light to it's more powerful side, with Lucia on one side and Ted, fresh off a appearance in Suikoden 4, on the other. Ted's Soul Eater rune is nothing to laugh at, but Lucia's pretty strong herself, and she's more than match for Ted's defenses, or lack therof. Ted: 21 Ghaleonx5z
superaielman Rashidi recevied some very odd looks, as he entered the DL arena. Instead of his usual mageling robes, he was wearing a suit of heavy grey looking armor. Rashidi saw his young foe from Onett, and wasted no time in firing out a Thunder Flare spell. Ness wasn't hurt too badly, but looked annoyed at the sudden attack. "Boy, that's just a taste of my powers. Retreat now, and you won't know the true pain that comes when you cross the Wiseman." Ness just glared at the talkative old man, and charged. His Bat stood swinging in the air, and he cracked Rashidi right across the chest, in what looked to be an incredibly painful blow. The armor deflected the blow, and sent Ness flying into the air. Quickly taking advantage of the situation, Rashidi fired off a quick Wind Shot spell, knocking poor Ness clear out of the arena. "Mmph. Fool. Trying to hit my cement breastplate with a bat.." Chuckling, Rashidi dropped the bulky armor in Ness's corner, as a painful reminder to the child about who he should and shouldn't pick fights with. Ness: 22 SageAcrin Geddoe's thoughts had been simple enough. He had defeated healers who resisted his damage before, he could do it again. Simple. Unfortunatly, he forgot something about elementary physics. You see, Nina 4, the last healer he fought, floated. As such, any lightning attacks directed at her face very high electrical resistance, since air is a very poor conductor. Hitting something on the ground with a lightning bolt actually does less damage than hitting something in the air with one, barring special preparation on the part of the thing in the air. Therefore, Rosa lived through his lightning onslaught, healed, and blasted Geddoe with Holy. Geddoe was later seen enrolling in college. You're never too old to learn. Geddoe: 22 Superaielman Liete is innocent enough to fit right in with Justin and company as they explored the world of Grandia. Obviously, she has no experence with dirty old men, or in this case, how to handle them. So when Haschel made a pass at her, Liete giggled and hugged him. Haschel was so shocked his pass at her worked, that he promptly grabbed Liete in a private place, and whispered some very inapprorate things. Liete, of course, just giggled and smiled, and seperated herself from Haschel.. and Red Shocked him right into the godlike stands of the arena. Sadly for Haschel, he landed right between Luca Blight and Kefka. Even sadder for him, he both knocked over Kefka's popcorn, and asked what Luca's mother was doing later this evening. Rumor has it that took seventeen clerics to reassemble Haschel's body parts. Haschel: 12 Superaielman Debonair glanced at the notes provided to him. "Only survivor of the Arc the Lad 3 purge... immune to normal physical attacks.. strong and fast.. Seems the odds are stacked against me." Debonair shook his head. "Mmm. There -is- a way to win, I'm sure of it." Jogging, he went to go pay a visit to the DL maintaince crew, to pay a visit to Lucca Ashtear, who ran the program. === Debonair stood in the ring, dressed in an odd outfit. Instead of his normal armor, he had on light clothing and boots, with the shirt in several bright, jarring colors. Velhart saw Debonair, shrugged, and dropped into Mushu. Debonair grinned, and waved his hand. The arena's lights flickered.. then went black. Debonair sprung into motion. Sheathing his sword, Debonair ran around the ring as fast as he could, creating a blur of colors. The constant motion made Velhart dizzy. Repeated stabs at the colors only netted him misses, and Debonair's Sonic Strike attack both broke his defenses and layed a painful hit with each successful blow. Velhart wasn't worried, though. The stinging blows had only strengthed his Omega Buster attack, and he had roughly figured out Debonair's pattern. "It's over." Dropping into his fighting stance, Velhart keyed in on the spinning colors, which had seemed to slow down, as if going in for a kill. "OMEGA BUSTER!" The deadly attack shredded the spinning colors. Velhart smiled, victorious. No one could stand up to that. To his shock, the lights came back on as soon as his blow had struck home. He saw a battered sword being spun around by a grinning Debonair, with a few tattered strips of cloth whirling around the blade. Debonair twirlled the clothing around for a second, then raised his blade to his chest. Charging in at full speed, he sighed. "You're a good fighter. Too bad you fell for such a simple tactic." Debonair reached Velhart and plunged the blade into his throat, making quick work of the still stunned warrior. Debonair walked out of the ring, shirtless and without a care in the world. Walked over to Lucca, bowed, picked up her hand, and kissed it. "That good enough, my dear?" With a giggle as a response, Debonair sauntered away, proud in winning a match no one had thought he had a chance in. Velhart: 17 Superaielman Elc stood watching Velhart and Debonair in the dark, as the sparks from clashing steel and swirling colors lit up the arena. He was completely shocked, like everyone else, when Velhart fell to a simple trick and a point blank charge from one of the Four Divas. "Damn. Not someone to trifle with." Picking up his spear, Elc knew that his duel next week would be a grim struggle. Izlude, though.. --- Izlude stood, bleeding from a half dozen wounds, while his opponent looked as fresh as could be. "How.. how does my blade not effect him?" He charged in with a feint and cross slash, landing a solid blow on Elc's side. Instead of glancing off or doing no damage, this struck home, drawing a crimson streak in Elc's leg. The Knight blade smiled, and jumped back, then straight up into the air. "Looks like you're all out of tricks!" He homed in on Elc, who's mobility was obviously limited by the wound... ..And bounced right off, as if he hitting an unbreakable surface. "Nah. I just forgot to recast Invincible. Thanks for giving me an opening, though!" Elc closed his eyes and muttered a few words. To Izlude's horror, the last of his life began to be sapped from his body, and flowed into Elc's wound. The last thing Izlude saw before passing out was Elc's wound closing up, and the sound of the match being awarded to his young foe. Izlude Tingel: 16 Hunter Sopko Kyra uses Nafoi. Superaielman "Useless Pokemon! Out of the DL with you!" Blastoise looked at the angry fans throwing trash at him, his feelings hurt. "Bl..Blast?" The water pokemon walked away from the crowd, tears in his eyes. They had cheered Mewtwo and Pikachu, why not him? Without noticing it, he bumped into Cagnazzo. The fiend of water looked like he had just recevied a verbal thrashing of his own. The two's eyes met, and a strange, rough bond formed. Cagnazzo then raised his hand. In it stood a Rare Candy, wrapped in paper. "This will numb the pain.." --- ...."Blast...iose..." The giant blue turtle staggered around the bar, obviously wasted. Joining him was the Fiend of Water, Cagnazzo. The bar was shocked at first, since neither Pokemon nor loser elemental fiends were welcomed here. "What.. are a pair of turtles doing in a pair, getting wasted?" "Why are those two loser turtles here?" "Someone call Jade!" Blastoise looked up to the crowd, annoyance dawning in his eyes. "BLAST..IOSE!" Aiming his cannon, Blastoise blasted the crowd with as much water as he could. The bar was emptied as the torrent flooded everyone out. Using the attack did remind Blastoise he had a match to go fight. Staggering off to the ring, he prepared for battle. --- Zylo looked at the security barring his way to the ring. "It isn't my fault I got soaked! I don't have time to dry off. Let me go fight."A sour faced Jade eyed Zylo. "Dry off, you say?" From the look in his eyes, Zylo saw the mistake in taking that tone with the irate godlike finalist. He had no time to regret it, as... "BoltX!" Rocked his world. "All dry now." Laughing, Jade threw the oblierated Zylo into the ring. While Blastoise was clearly in no shape to fight, Zylo wasn't exactly alive enough to even try to fight. .."Bl..blastoise?" The wasted turtle wobbled about in the ring, then went to go celebrate with the fiend of water who had helped him in the first place. Blastoise: 30 SageAcrin Mia was in trouble. You see, a giant suit of armor....with no one inside of it... ...Isn't very effected by destructive bursts of ice. It's just not. Grey noted this as he entered the arena. "It's not every day I get a cool breeze." He said solemnly. "Well....I still have a chance." Mia said solemnly. "Hmph. Let's see it." Grey said. "Here goes." Mia said, directing a powerful blast of ice at Grey's legs, freezing them to the ground.... ...And rushing up behind the attack, to smack Grey solidly in the chest with her stave. As the crowd watched, Grey's legs and upper body parted ways, and he came crashing to the ground, legless, his legs still standing stiffly in a brace of ice. From there, he gracefully forfieted. It would have been too sad of a match to do otherwise, anyhow. Grey's personal welder/blacksmith ended up out of a job, though. Grey: 15 SageAcrin "Uhhhh, my head..." A heroically wasted Cagnazzo said, as he stumbled into the arena. "...You have to be kidding me. I have to fight a giant drunken turtle?" Mullen said, baffled at his opponent. -Six hours ago...- "Blablasblas!" Blastoise said(?) to Cagnazzo. "Hmmm. I know too what it's like to be mocked. People mock my weakness all the time." Cagnazzo said, ordering up two shots of tequila... -Four hours later.- "Blas.....toi. Blasoti. Bslatoi! Slatbois!" Blastoise said to Cagnazzo, weaving on his feet. "Huhn. Yoush.....you ush....use rain? To makshe your water more powerful?! Thatsh brillance! Show me hows." The nodding Cagnazzo said to Blastoise... -Two hours later.- "I'm.....I'm not justh a turtle. I AM THE FIEND OF WATER. I WILL CRUSHES YOU." Cagnazzo said. And started dancing. As the crowd stood, baffled, it....began to rain. "....I think it's time I ended this spectacle. Rising Dragon Cut!" Mullen said, dealing the turtle a vicious blow. "Thatsh not nice. BIG WAVE!" Cagnazzo said. And the crowd watched, stunned, as Mullen crumpled to the ground, crushed by only one attack from Cagnazzo. Then Cagnazzo wandered over to Mullen, poked him a few times, then passed out on top of him. Sadly for Cagnazzo, he doesn't remember any of this, so he still can't figure out how he managed to use Rain Dance. But, for once, it seems that drinking has had a beneficial effect on someone's health... Cagnazzo: 38 DomaDragoon Chaz walked out into the arena calmly. Brushing off his cloak, he readied himself for his opponent. *CLANK* "Huh?" said Chaz. *CLANK* *CLANK* A large mass of armor and clothes shuffled forward into the ring. Chaz stared in disbelief, as the lump began to speak. "Stand and deliver!" "Marcus? Is that you? What in the world are you doing dressed up like Gogo?" "Well, the boys in Tantalus had this idea..." Marcus replied as he slowly advanced on the mage. "See, they know that you're this great mage with lots of different elemental spells. So they decided to kit me out with all the elemental protection they could get their hands on." "But won't that make it a bit difficult to move?" Marcus swung his sword a few times, slowly but still with enough force to do some damage, as a response. "I see..." mused Chaz. "Well, you won't mind if I put you to the test." A torrent of flames came out from Chaz's hands and engulfed Marcus, but nothing seemed to happen. "Hah! It worked!" said Marcus. Unperturbed, Chaz kept up the heat. He staggered at the magical forces he was exuding - but he wasn't the only one staggering. "What's... happening to me?" asked Marcus, as he swayed from side to side slowly. Chaz chuckled. "You can't be hurt by my magic, thanks to all your protection. However, there's nothing saving you from the side effects of magic... like the air around you heating up. I imagine it can't be too comfortable in there right now." "Gaagl bley," said Marcus as he collapsed to the ground. Chaz: 33 SageAcrin As Brey entered the arena, he heard a sound he couldn't quite place a name to for a moment. Then it clicked. Muffled laughter. "Oh, damnit. They're still laughing about last week? Hmph." Brey said, glaring around the arena(Which seemed to only make the noise louder.). "Well, I wouldn't blame them." Ricardo Banderas said, smirking. "After all, it's not every day you see an old man hitting on Sheena Lepant. It's the exact opposite of what you'd expect." He finished, chuckling. "Grrrrr....Blizzard!" Brey yelled out, blasting Rico with an icestorm. As the battle started underway, one thing became far too clear to Brey. "....hell, not only do I get mocked this week, I get beaten, too?" He said, barely standing after Rico's attack. Evidently, old brittle men have issues about taking piledrivers. "No. I won't stand for this!" "Hmph. What are you going to do, start groping me, old man?" Rico said, laughing along with the crowd. "...that's it. You don't think I know that charm spell anymore? To hell with legality, I'll make you pay for this." Rico said, casting his spell. And watched, cackling madly, as Rico rushed over to Chu-Chu and started kissing her. For about 30 second. After which, the stunned judges declared Brey the loser due to non-battle powers at the same time as Rico was sheared down by half a dozen spells. Brey may have lost, but he certainly came out on top. Not only were pictures of Rico giving Chu-Chu a french kiss spread across the League, but now Chu-Chu has a massive crush on Rico, and follows him around constantly...
