RC Dragons are so scary, so formidable. Well, normally. But Ultimecia can kill Ryu in less than three hits. Ryu can't say the same, even tenfold. Ultimecia: 12 Meeple Lard Sephiroth is fast, Miguel wasn't, at least, I don't remmeber him being. Meh, Miguel didn't exactly have the greatest Durability, and something tells me when Sephiroth Flies, he's immune to HolyDrgnSword...but that's a stretch. Ummm...ok, I'll do seomthing else: HolyDrgnSword: Can sometimes NOT kill a PC with High HP and white element Shadow Flare: This move kills a PC...and the decides to do 3000 more damage to make it look more interesting (that, or its cause that PC likly has HP+ Materia) I guess is the typical Final Boss > Mid game Boss situation, and to make things worse, Sephiroth can get rid of Miguel's stat alterers, while Wall will still be in effect after Weakminded... Sephiroth: 10 Super Be it by any name, Wailing Soul Slash hurts like a moth- well, it hurts. Rose can apply the same level of pain with her Demon¡¯s Dance, but unlike Melfice, her healing and defense isn¡¯t going to be enough to carry her to a victory here. Melfice: 7 RC It is a given fact that both Odd Eye and Yunalesca unfairly lose most often to stupid, weak people. Thus, they will do anything to win. Odd Eye wanted to play fair and with his all. Yunalesca just shoved him out of bounds with a kick to the behind. Thus, a cheater wins. Yunalesca: 5 superaielman "MIRROR STANCE!" Ramsus's scream echoed throughout the arena, spelling doom for any who test it. "Glass shield!" Asellus's much softer voice gently bounced throught the arena, and it spelled doom for any who tested her shield. Hm? Ramsus was confused. What did that shield do, anyway? Ramsus tested the shield with a cautious slash... ...and he woke up in the nurse's station an hour later, after he had all the glass picked out of his face. Asellus: 6 Hunter Sopko Jack pales a bit as Ryu turns into his dragon form, but with a bit of quick thinking, he whips out his guitar and plays a bit, hoping the spirit of a good fighter that has fallen in the arena will be summoned. Luckily, out of the ground pops none other than Ryu5, and after looking around for the summoner and only seeing Ryu1, he proceeds to attack and ruthlessly murder his poor counterpart. From the secret bunker on the edge of the arena, Jack smiles at his good fortune. In the stands, Elmina sighs and shakes her head. "What a loser..." Jack van Burace: 8 superaielman Luca Blight, madman of the highlands, prince of slaughter, and all around badass, wasn't coming into this match screaming and talking about pigs. He has a calm smile on his face, and his gleaming armor was quite becoming of him. Walking over to the queen, Luca bowed, and taking her hand, kissed it. "My lady, it is truly my pleasure to engage you in battle on this fine day." Rosa, to her surprise, giggled. The prince's efforts to charm her seemed to have worked on the normally defensive white mage. Saluting the queen, Luca drew his sword, and dropped into a fighting stance... right as Rosa dropped to the floor, out cold. Luca's brutal grin returned. He made a note to thank Jowy for giving him the idea for a "Sand Ruby Kiss.." Luca Blight: 8 chipstick85@aol.com
Elfboy Emily is an offensive physical powerhouse. Lawfer is an offensive physical powerhouse. Emily has excellent HP. Lawfer has excellent HP. Emily's attack hits several times in one round. Lawfer's attack hits several times in one round. Emily has nothing but evadable physical attacks. Lawfer has nothing but evadable physical attacks. Emily has close to perfect physical evasion. Lawfer... does not. Match to Emily. Emily: 10 Super Leehalt is just the thing most PCs dread. A boss who perfectly counters any and all damage sent towards him, and one who has good HP. However, Sonya is just the thing Leehalt dreads. She can easily heal the damage he does with his counters, and she has more than enough HP and healing to put down this pesky boss. Leehalt Alceste: 2 Super Bow eats... OHKO. Bow eats OHKO, no matter how much he looks like dough. Bow eats OHKO, because his HP Is low. Bow eats OHKO, because... aw, screw it. Atlas hurts. Bow dies. Taya: 7 Super Yuffie's all about healing with limits, and damaging between heals. Nina's all about using stat ups and healing, then statusing out her opponent. Yuffie gets statused, then poked to death by Nina. Yuffie Kisaragi: 6 Super Lilka knew she needed to win fast against the status using Cristo. So, thinking fast, she walked over to Alena (who was watching in the stands), and appeared to kiss her. Cristo did what most men would do, seeing that. He fainted from shock. Lilka not only stole a win, she managed to fire up those rumors about Alena's sexuality again.. Cristo: 4 Elfboy When Nanami took one look at the imposing heavily-armoured greatswordsman Grey, she knew what she had to do. She fled from the scary-looking black knight without a second thought. By the time she learned that Grey, despite appearances, was one of the weakest of Lenneth's Einherjar, she was half a country away from the Arena, and the match had been over for hours. Nanami: 6 metroid composite
Elfboy "Ow, ow ow!" said Ronfar. "Oh, for goodness' sake, don't try to move," said Hiro to his friend. Ronfar cast an angry glance back at him. Confined to his bed since last week's unfortunate confrontation with a certain Toran-born Earth magess, he was in a bad mood. "I'm angry, Hiro," he said. "And not just angry like I was at Zophar, for wrecking the world and all. No, this is PERSONAL." "Don't you think you're taking this a tad too badly?" said Hiro, with a sigh. "You should have known what you were getting into, there. In fact, I seem to recall warning you." "Badly?" said Ronfar. "She personally attacked me without provocation, before the fight!" Hiro snorted, but Ronfar continued. "And then the judges have the nerve to give her the win, before the fight, disqualifying me! And then there's the emotional trauma I suffered. Rejection's never pleasent, especially in Earthquake form. And that," said Ronfar with a smile. "Is why I want you to do something for me." "I'm not getting caught up in your crazy schemes," said Hiro. "Oh, but I can make it worth your while," replied the Larpan gambler. "Two simple words: Lucia bromides." "I have the real thing. Not interested." "Jean bromides?" Ronfar continued. Hiro shook his head. "I've got them all, you know. How about Lemina? Or... Leo?" "Enjoy your bedrest, Ronfar," Hiro got up and turned to go. "Wait," said Ronfar. "Sorry, pal. I didn't want to do this, but..." Ronfar reached under his bed, and pulled out a bromide. "What... is... THAT?" said Hiro, in horror. "What does it look like? It's a Hiro bromide. I told you I had them all," said Ronfar with a chuckle. "So... one simple question... what is it worth to you to have this NOT duplicated and distributed for the world to see?" Hiro made a dive for the bromide, but Ronfar had it tucked up his sleeve faster than seemed possible for a bed-ridden man. "Now, you wouldn't want to assault an injured priest, would you? That wouldn't reflect well on you, I must say." Hiro gloured. "Fine! See if I care!" the younger man said. "Oh, but you do," smiled Ronfar. "Think of it, my friend. Your male friends will lose all respect for you when they see this. And then, you'll have to fend off the hordes of screaming fangirls. Not to mention how degrading the whole thing is? Are you really willing to be a pin-up boy?" "What did you just say?" said Hiro, turning bright red. "That doesn't matter now, does it?" said Ronfar. "What matters is that you hear what I'm about to say now. I suggest you listen carefully, since you know what will happen if you don't..." *** "And so," intoned Indalecio, the assigned judge for the second Light quarter-final match of RPGDL season 3, "If both sides are ready, we shall begin." "Ready," said Tengaar. "I have drawn daikyou. Terrible fortune!" said Nanami. "Er... I'm ready, I guess." She braced herself for the Earthquake. "START!" cried the Wise Man-cum-judge. "A moment!" came a cry. A swordsman in a cape dropped into the centre of the arena with a flourish. "It's Hiro!" came a cry, followed by lots of mumblings along the lines of 'what is he doing here?' "Hi, ladies," said Hiro, a sheepish look on his face. "First of all, Tengaar," he turned the maiden of the Warriors' Village. "I deeply apologise for doing this. It... wasn't my desire to do so, but unfortunate circumstances left me with little choice." Tengaar stared angrilly at him. "And to you, Shrine Maiden," Hiro continued. "My deeper apologies." He raised his sword in the air. "Three strikes and the enemy's out!" he cried, leaping high into the sky. The entire crowd watched in shock. Indalecio just shrugged, and prepared to make the 'Interference!' call as soon as Hiro touched Nanami. Hiro dropped beside the girl from Hai-Lan. He made three brutal slashes, as the Triple Sword connected... with air. Nanami had dodged. "What the...?" Hiro was interrupted as Nanami lept back, and countered him with a slap to the face. Hiro raised his hand to his right cheek. And got annoyed. "Dodge THIS!" he cried, leaping up for a Poe Sword. Once again, he only felt air. Then another slap. He raised his hand to his left cheek. "I... don't understand," he said. Tengaar lowered her hand, the Earth Rune fading. "Revenge Earth," she said, with a smug look on her face. "One hundred percent evade-and-counter. You didn't think I'd let you hurt my opponent, did you?" "I... I..." stammered Hiro. "I rather supsect you didn't think at all," she continued, raising her hand again, burying Hiro under an Earthquake. Hiro grimaced with pain, as the world shook around him. He couldn't fail in his mission! Ronfar's threat had been too dire. He still had his wind magic, which would strike Nanami and give her the win-by-interference, dashing Tengaar's hopes of a Light championship. He waited for the quake to calm. As soon as it did, he turned, crying once more, "Dodge THIS!" as he sent a Cross-Boomerang at Nanami. And once more hit nothing but air. Hiro stared in shock. It wasn't possible! "Winner: Tengaar." Indalecio spoke simply. It was only then Hiro noticed that the Earthquake spell had hit Nanami too, and unlike the slayer of Zophar, she hadn't been lucky enough to survive. Hiro slumped to his knees. "I... failed," he said. "I just can't believe this... I'll never live this down..." Tengaar wasn't paying attention to him any more, though, as she had earned yet another RPGDL win, and embarrassed another annoying Lunar resident while she was at it. Tengaar: 7 dmarco3@yahoo.com Ok, so Palom will lose a few turns looking Instructor Trepe over. She get him with the whip a few times, prompting a few comments that would have Porom breaking out the mallet. [Or tugging him away by the ear for all you Pokemon fans.] But throughout all this, Quistis herself takes no damage. And no damage = no limits. At around the halfway mark of Palom's HP, both sides get a bit smarter. Quistis prepares to whip herself, when Palom says, "It's been fun, but it's time for you to go." With that, he casts Fatal. What Palom says next I won't say. Just suffice to say Porom jumps down to mallet her immature borther and drag him by the ear, all the while muttering 'why do I have to have him as a twin?' Quistis Trepe: 3 Super
Super Locke's stolen many things in his time. Hearts, weapons, pants (in some cases, all three at once.) However, he'll just settle for stealing Algus's sword, and therefore, the win. Locke Cole: 13 Anonymous
Yuri vs Yaoi Elfboy Shion and KOS-MOS have this for one simple reason. While Dart and Lavitz, their yaoiness finally acknowledged by the world (or at least the RPGDL) are likely to break down and start making out in the middle of the fight, KOS-MOS at least possesses a cool enough head to fire an X-Buster, taking out the two Dragoons. So, Yuri wins this on paper... though, in reality, it is Yaoi that is the true victor, since only Dart and Lavitz will get a chance to express their love. Yaoi: 7 Yuri: 2 Really, take a guess.
