Gatewalker The arena was silent after Yuna's rather brutal victory over Kratos. Everyone was stunned speechless at what they had seen. Kratos, a rather competent Godlike fighter, with a weapon specifically geared to kill humans, was beaten in a physical slugging match by a summoner. And into this silence, Yuna spoke, "Anyone else want to tell me I wouldn't be in Godlike without my Aeons?" The silence that followed that challenge was broken by the slow and steady clapping of one man, Jade, the mightiest of the Dark Dragons. Standing up so that all could see him, he smiled down at the angry woman in the ring, "Bravo my dear, bravo. You've proven that you can beat a...low...Godlike without the aid of your pets. But don't let that swell your head too much, your path to the finals won't all be against such opponents." Leveling a stare at Jade's mocking tone, Yuna crossed her arms in annoyance, "If you have something to say bug, say it." Jade only smiled wider, "Simply that being able to beat the weakest Godlikes around, those who should have never been in this division in the first place, is not something you should be boasting about. It's not as if you could manage to beat any high Godlike without your Aeons." Narrowing her eyes, Yuna knew she was about to walk right into Jade's setup, but was a bit past caring by this point, "Oh, like...you? Care to bet on that, bug?" The crowd gasped, and a murmer started. She couldn't be serious, intending to take on the likes of Jade without her Aeons to back her up. But Jade simply kept smiling, "What manner of bet did you have in mind? And make it something interesting, mere money has no meaning to one such as myself." Now it was Yuna's turn to smile, "If I can beat you, no Aeons at all, you have to serve me for the next 3 seasons. Doing absolutely anything I tell you to." Jade's smile began to dissapear. He served none but Myria herself. But he saw an opportunity here that he couldn't turn away from, and was confident in his victory regardless, "Very well, woman. And when, excuse me, if I beat you, you, and all of your pets, will serve the Goddess as my direct underlings for the same period." "Done. See you in a week then, bug. No backing down now." Jade could only laugh. Imagine, HIM being the one backing down. The nerve. --------------------------- Back in the FFX locker room, Lulu stormed over to Yuna, "Are you insane, Yuna? Jade is a monster, you can't be serious about this." Yuna shook her head, "I'm dead serious, Lulu. I'm tired of people always whining about how I don't fight fair, how I'm not a real godlike, how I can only win fights because of my Aeons. I'm sick of it Lulu. I've got to prove that I'm strong even without them." Lulu sighed in frustration, but Tidus just nodded and sat down, "Alright then, we better come up with a plan. First we head out to the Thunder Plains and get you a Protect Ring to null out that BoltX, then.." "No." Tidus blinked, "What?" Yuna shook her head, "No. I'm not going to win like that. Then people will just complain about me spoiling him. It won't solve anything." Now Tidus was the one sighing, "Oooookay. You're still using the Nirvana, right?" "Of course. That's no different then Orlandu winning matches with the Excalibur, afterall." Glad that she wasn't insisting on giving up all of her advantages, Tidus leaned forward and began sketching out a plan, "Alright then. You can run circles around this guy, so we'll work that angle here. Here's what you're gonna do..." ----------------------------- Myria was giggling in the stands as Yuna healed herself up from another Shell-reduced BoltX and then followed up by throwing yet another Holy right across Jade's face, staggering the massive bug. Sitting next to Myria, Hrist looked down and cocked an eyebrow at her mistress's mirth, "Ah, Jade is losing this fight, m'lady. What is there to find amusing in that?" Smiling up at Hrist, Myria posed a question, "Could you beat Yuna, Hrist? Just Yuna, not her monsters." Pausing to think for a moment, Hrist could only shake her head in response, "No, I do not believe I could, m'lady." Nodding Myria turned her attention back to the fight, which was going even further downhill for her servant, "Neither can Jade, which he's learning the hard way right now. He has been my most powerful servant for so long that he began to see himself as mightier then anything and everything besides myself. This defeat, and this servitude to Yuna, will teach him some much needed humility. And I can deal with the loss of his service for a short while. You, Arngrim and Teepo are more then capable of taking care of anything I need done for now. Besides," looking up, Myria flashed Hrist a mischievous grin, "If I know Jade at all, he's going to do something to get himself in very hot water with his new mistress very soon. And the fallout from that should be quite a bit of fun to see." Hrist simply blinked and nodded, keeping silent. But resolved to never let arrogance run away with her as it had with Jade. Jade: 15 superaielman Yuri grunted and fell to his knees. The Godslayer and master of the Seraphic Radiance could no longer stand. His control over Fusions granted him nearly unlimited resources and power.. the key word being nearly. The power of the creator of the Junk Yard surpassed even his powers. Yuri couldn't even do so much as lift his arms to defend himself. Bhavaria had shattered his body, leaving him a useless husk and completely defenseless to whatever Jenna had in mind. The fight was over in every sense of the word. Angel had noticed this. Within a single stride she reverted from her demonic Hari-Hara form to her normal human form. She placed her hand on Yuri's face and traced the bloodied lines of his face with surprising gentleness. The look on her face disabused any notion of kindness and mercy. Jenna's light eyes burned with the same darkness that tainted her own sun. There would be nothing but pain at her hands, nothing but Hell. "So cute.." The words chilled Yuri's heart. He knew what Jenna's..erm.. special traits. He did not want to find out for sure about that. And there was nothing Yuri could do to stop her. None of his friends were strong enough to tangle with Angel besides perhaps the Time Lord, and the arena had been heavily warded by an entire legion of Time Mages on loan from Altima. Not to mention Ghaleon hanging around, who still had a grudge to settle with Yuri for beating him several seasons back. Only an idiot would dare to interfer and help him. It was reassuring in a way, because Yuri had one friend in particular who never much payed attention to logic. As if by cue, a silverly flash appeared in the space above Jenna's head. A bright silver of spinning metal hit Jenna squarely in the chest, right over the her Atma mark. Jenna screamed. The unholy sound ripped into the quiet of the arena. The sound was like glass being scratched, the sound of endless rivers of lava flowing over the fiery pits of hell. It wasn't the sound the Harmonixer wanted to hear on a regular basis, but.. the sound of Jenna suffering was music to his ears here. He certainly hadn't had much luck inflicting any kind of pain on Hari-Hara. "Karanborg lives up to it's billing. Who knew that you could find a Ragnarok level holy sword by digging in the ground?". Edge gave Yuri an Ex-Potion and grimanced in pain. Edge was wounded from what looked to be.. axe wounds? Who the hell could hit Edge with an axe? Edge also tossed a pair of smokeballs to Yuri, oblivious to the sound of Jenna screaming her soul out while futilely trying to pull Karanborg out of her chest. "Security was really tight man. You'd think I had a reputation or something." Edge chuckled at his attempt at a joke, then eyed the crowd. "Mmm. I see Ghaleon and he's approaching and looks pissed. Not to mention about half of Godlike, most of whom I've either insulted, hit on, beaten, or all of the above in the case of Piastol and Royce. Sounds like the perfect chance to have some fun." Edge absently spun around and twisted the sword in Jenna's chest, freeing the blade with the final twirl. He then tossed the scared sword of the Roshian temple at Ghaleon, scoring a direct hit on the Magic Emperor. Ghaleon roared in fury and began moving quickly towards the center of the arena. Edge reached into his pocket and pulled out a blindfold and began preparing a few simple spells. "A well placed spell should turn this into something fun!" Yuri dragged himself to his feet and found the energy to give Edge an amused look. "Revive you at the normal place with double the guards?" A wave of tall flames erupted from Edge's hands and seared Piastol. The flames didn't do much damage, but they burned off the few clothes the Angel of Death was wearing at the time. She shrieked in mortification and sprinted towards Edge, screaming promises of new and exciting methods of pain infliction that she was going to use on the Ninja Prince very shortly. .."Triple guards this time. You don't even have to ask, Edge. I'll see you when Cristo finds enough pieces to put you together. Jenna Angel: 26 Meeplelard The fight came down to a rather ridiculous conclusion. Gades happened to remember that compared to other characters in his game, barring the other male sinistrals, he's a hell of a lot larger. So much that he took the easiest approach possible and simply stepped on Yuber. Yuber's reaction was what you'd expect...though no one saw it as his face was blocked by Gades boot. Gades: 30 Barubary
Dunefar There's a lot to be said on how Kharg can win, but let's just imagine this: The Big Owl crashes into Surt's throne room. Not even Lavos could take a suicidal airship rush and Surt is certainly no Lavos, no? Surt: 16 SageAcrin A magnificent phoenix. Deadly. Powerful. But no match for Lute's intelligence. --- "Don't feel so bad. I wouldn't have even thought to try that." Vanessa said. "I...I still can't figure out how this place managed to have that many firebirds, though." Lute sighed with disgust. "So much for thinking that a weakness to electricity would make this a piece of cake." --- On the same day, a massive firestorm engulfed the Pokemon-and-various-small-monsters rooms. Witnesses attested that Moltres and Ho-oh sneezed at the same time, causing the conflagration. Approximately 4.7 Million Gil damage is the current assessment by the insurance agency. Peter: 25 Meeplelard Jade was so pissed at his loss in Godlike to Yuna, that he decided to control Sara yet again and win some dignity! Well, Sara did win the fight...except it was later discovered that Jade's actions played a role in, and due to some very loosely defined guidelines, it was declared interference, and the match was ruled in Canas' favor in the end. So what happened to Jade? Well, lets just say Yuna wasn't exactly pleased that he was interfering in a middle match while he was supposed to be polishing Tidus and Wakka's blitz trophies, and decided to assign him to be Rikku's personal servant for a week as a punishment. While Jade was even less happy about this, Rikku seems to be having a ball with it. After doing her little stint in FFX-2, she thinks it's long past time that she got a bit of male fanservice to make up for it, and as such, Jade has mostly been doing things like carrying Rikku's shopping bags while wearing a variety of fanservicey outfits. Moral of the story: Cheaters never prosper Moral of the story #2: They really don't prosper when there's absolutely no damn benefit FOR cheating to begin with. Sara: 23 SageAcrin Ricardo's plan was obvious. After all, his strategy had worked against the last woman he fought! Certainly, he'd been dumped a few days later when her memory came back fully, but it was still an excellent strategy! It'd be sure to work again! --- "Why's Ricardo wearing his guitar and looking depressed?" Mao whispered to Johnny curiously. "Edna finally found out he was here and hitting on other women, in every way possible. It was a good thing he'd won by that point. Well, sort of a good thing, considering he was hitting on Mia by that point." Johnny whispered back, as Ricardo sighed deeply. "So when does Nash burn the guitar off of him?" Mao asked. "He said something about getting a chicken suit for maximum humiliation. He should be here any time." Johnny replied. "Ahhh." Mia Ausa: 33 Sei Lowen never saw the last shot coming. Literally. Let this be a lesson kids. Trim your bangs, or at least, comb them properly. That way, you would actually be able to see stuff. Lowen: 14
DL Team Battles V Obsidian EQUIPMENT REQUEST #404492: WINDSHIELD WIPERS BACKGROUND: The Zexen knights are paragons of good...mostly. They have fought for the Fire Bringer. They've served under Chris Lightfellow, one of the great generals of the age, and certainly are no slouches themselves. Borus, the Swordsmen of Rage, has an unmatched sword arm, and wields a Sword of Rage rune. Leo...has a freaking huge axe, and is quite the manly man. Percival may be regarded as a mage by others, but those people are the ones who forget he too is quite the physical fighter. And Roland is an elf, and therefore is automatically good with bows and arrows. Come on, elves are always good at that...or something. -- The Temple Knights are one of the most powerful organizations known in Ivalice. Servants of the Church of Glabados, they are some of the most well-armed and well-known guardians of the land. Their elite are even stronger. Especially those involved in the Lucavi plot. Vormav and Wiegraf are imbued with the powers of the Zodiac demons. Rofel is quite possibly an Ultima demon himself. And Balk has come back from the dead, an abomination with no soul, but a good gun arm. --- It takes entire armies to take down Zodiac demons and Ultima demons. It takes a lapse in concentration for the Zexen knights to die. -- Needless to say, the Temple Knights won. -- TL;DR: Based on the above background, Jdgs. Tir McDohl and Cidolfas Orlandu would like to request windshield wipers be added to the windows in the Judging Booth. Quote: "Blood is not transparent."
