Lady (SH3) Lady vs Indalecio Indalecio (SO2)

SageAcrin
A glorious explosion.

One man, floating above it all.

Laughing.

The end would come to all who had denied him!

---

"We really need to get Blue on anti-depressants or something." Ghaleon noted, as he watched Blue fly away from the scorched arena. "He does this every time he even considers that he's never been on a date."

"..." Terra stared blankly at the scorched earth. "...Can we just say Lady won because her Umbral kept her from blowing up?"

"It makes as much sense as reviving him only to have Lady redo the job, at any rate." Hrist shrugged.

Indalecio: 20

Luis Virgil (XS1) Luis Virgil vs Loki Loki (VP1)

Meeplelard
Virgil reviewed the match over and over again. He ran computer simulators, ran mathematical calculations (well, no, he didn't, he just blackmailed several of the smartest strategists in the DL involving a certain incident...you know the one...well, no, you don't, cause there are a lot of those, but you get the idea...to do it for him, but that's not the point!), even tried to roleplay the fight with action figures, in order to get a feel for the fight!

...all results ended in failure. Virgil knew he couldn't win; a madman like Loki was not his forte. So what did he do? Made a phone call of course!

The day of the match arrived. Virgil wasn't anywhere in sight. Loki was about to laugh at his easily claimed victory...until a big blue sphere of light enclosed the arena, and Loki...well, there wasn't much remaining of him. Of course, everyone KNOWS Virgil lacks a move like that, so it was obvious there was some cheating involved. Naturally, Loki got the win by default.

-----

"So let me get this straight, Terra, you just blew up the opponent of the same guy who defeated you last round...why?" said Celes.

"Well, he did admit he couldn't win for starters, so rather than show up, have to deal with one of Loki's ridiculous prebattle rants only to lose and be in pain, it'd just be easier to go out the indignified way, by watching Loki get nuked from the side lines, and merely lose by interference."

"Uh-huh...that still doesn't explain WHY you helped Virgil though."

"Oh, that? Well, he's not such a bad guy once you get to know him! In fact, its thanks to him, the kids can sleep easier at night knowing a certain...friend of his...won't be bothering them anytime soon." Terra replied " That, and the fact that its always fun to make a fool of Loki..." she said winking.

Needless to say, while Virgil did in fact lose the fight...many would deem him the unofficial winner. But then again, that's a common occurrence here anyway, isn't it?

Decus (SO2) Decus vs Edge Eblan Edge Eblan (FF4)

DragonKnight Zero
Ahhahaha, last time Edge took on a boss with powerful fire attacks he ended up as paste. What could be different this time?

Well, Edge could drive in with a fire truck and turn the hose on Decus. He'd be disqualified of course but at least he wouldn't suffer third degree burns. But Edge's pride won't allow him to go that path.

Anyhow...

"Explode." Decus' attack engulfed the entire arena including the first few rows.

Even without a sound to grab his attention, Edge's ninja senses detected a smug Orlandu behind him in the stands. Lowering a Flame Shield, Orlandu holds up a familiar binder which has started to burn.

"My photos!" Summoning ninja magic, Edge douses the flames with a light water spell, enough as to prevent further damage to his precious photos. He then smirks at Orlandu, "Thought you could trick me into charging out of the ring did you old man? Well I'm smarter than..." "BURN"

KO. That moment of distraction was enough for Decus to punch Edge's lights out. Evasion doesn't help when one's not watching one's back.

"That was interference!" exclaims Edge from the burn ward.
"NEGATIVE" supplies Fujin.
"... didn't interfere with your ability to fight. Therefore no interference." adds Shadow.
"Dammit!"

Decus: 44
Edge Eblan: 13

Saki Inugami (SH2) Saki Inugami vs Feena Feena (G1)

SageAcrin
Two women.

One young and inexperienced, with full mastery over whips and daggers and mystical arts.

The other old, with the experience that comes of full age, with a monstrous demon form capable of ripping off anything and everything in a battle.

There would be no quarter given, these two would give it all in a sweaty combat the likes of which few have ever seen!

---

"...hah...hah....damn, that was a workout. Glad I didn't have to kill Edge." Yuri said, puffing, as he toss Seigfried's broken body on top of Sten's.

"Damn if I'm going to let them try to get all perverted with my aunt, though. For one thing, I might have to see pictures." Yuri muttered, shuddering.

And so, the match ended normally, with nothing untoward happening...

---

"...well, I know you went to a lot of trouble, Yuri, so I brought you a little present." Saki said, smiling.

"It was no-wait, what the hell?" Yuri sputtered, as he unwrapped his present.

"Oh, I knew you were busy staving off idiots, so I decided to give you a present that no perverts but my darling nephew could appreciate. As such, I transformed and ripped off Feena's shirt before the match started and had a friend take a picture. Got me disqualified, but I didn't really mind. I knew you'd like it." Saki smiled.

"...okay... you...you are the best aunt ever." Yuri finally managed.

Saki Inugami: 16
Feena: 28

Flon
I would have written down a limerick in hearts of pink and red about how Timestop (ever use that in D&D?) shreds Saki to pieces, but I can't take the name of the Lord in vain.

Suffice to say, the cow says 'Moo'

Tear Grants (TotA) Tear Grants vs Tengaar Tengaar (Suikos)

SageAcrin
Two women.

Playing chess in parkas.

Little did they understand that Edge was in a match and Yuri was busy killing all of the other perverts. Their choice of clothing, normally useful here, was pointless...

As the blazing summer sun shone down on their outdoor match.

And shone down.

And shone down...

And shone down....

You know, they really should have had a timer.......

---

"...I don't...understand this...this is some kind of a beautiful dream, isn't it?" Brey asked, stunned, as Tengaar and Tear played chess in their underwear, parkas discarded on the arena floor, as the fourth hour of their chess match wore on. "I mean, there's no one bothering them, and they're..I...they....this...what?"

"Oh, just enjoy it." Lexis grinned, as he munched popcorn, one of the few inhabitants of the nearly empty arena.

Tengaar's chess victory was closely won, as the two were nearly an even match. Tear was, fortunately, far more flustered, however, by the choice between stripping or heat stroke.

There would be no record of this match, no photos. The judges had fallen asleep before in the first hour, as had most of the sparse crowd, and were only woke after the victory and subsequent re-robing...

Only a dedicated, nerdy few, interested enough in a chess match after three hours saw what truly happened.

And it will be a beautiful secret they carry to the end of their days.

Tear Grants: 19
Tengaar: 29

Hahn Mahlay (PS4) Hahn Mahlay vs Brad Evans Brad Evans (WA2)

SageAcrin
A railgun is a beautiful thing.

Massive.

Broad.

Long.

Majestic, impressive, imposing...

Capable of bringing any target to their knees.

---

"But it's really kinda overcompensating, isn't it?" Hahn noted, as Brad crumpled to the ground, a victim of Hahn's deadly instant death spells. "I mean, really."

"Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going home to sleep with my girlfriend." Hahn commented to Brad's corpse.

Hahn Mahlay: 28
Brad Evans: 14

Setting up arena - complete
Uploading data: Alex Trebek and Ken Jennings - upload complete

"This is Jeopardy!"
Amazing that Brad agreed to Hahn's idea. Seems he had a desire to win on a game show. Or maybe it was rumors he didn't have a chance in a straight fight. Even more amazing that the judges went for it but when Citan, Lucca, and Lexis are involved, miracles do happen. It also keeps Luther busy. Commanding two humanoid clones takes a lot of concentration.

Mixed reactions from the audience. Here are some snippets:
"Ken Jennings? Who the hell is he?"
"Ha, Hahn's getting schooled."
"So is Brad."
"So whichever of the two has less money loses. What happens if they both tie for last?"
"We'll deal with that should we come to it. Why not enjoy the show?" replies Citan.
"Boring!" whines Tidus.
"For once, I agree with you boy." Jecht concedes.

Viktor (Suikos) Viktor vs Jewel Jewel (S4)

SageAcrin
A True Rune...to be defeated by a simple, common Water Rune?

Due to the patheticness of his wielder!

The humiliation the Star Dragon Sword was suffering!

This common fool couldn't possibly wield his power in any way worth noting!

This was pathetic!

Disgraceful!

Idiotic!

There was only one thing to be done.

---

"I don't think it counts as a win, if you have Fou-Lu use the sword, even if he isn't transforming..." Flik noted, as he watched the match begin.

"Eh. If it shuts the sword up, I can lose a match." Viktor muttered. "He was threatening to sell me into slavery to Albedo. I wouldn't put it past the stupid dull razor to find a way to."

Viktor: 22
Jewel: 23

Stallion (Suikos) Stallion vs Erk Erk (FE7)

SageAcrin
Run, Stallion!

Run like the wind!

Your ultimate talent will be the end of Erk!

Run, for everlasting peace!

---

"...that was stupid." Erk noted, as he, along with the rest of the crowd, stared blankly at Stallion's body, plastered against the arena wall.

Nope.

Stallion runs fast.

But he still can't run up walls.

Next time, he really needs to use a door.

Stallion: 21
Erk: 35

And so, the four sets of heros set out, on their incredible quest.

Who among them could possibly defeat the dangers ah-

...

._.

Mario and Toadstool: 12
X and Zero: 7
Jude and Dean: 3
Lenneth and Alicia: 9
No one: 14

Sei
Mario grabs the Princess, uses the P-Wing, and flies over the levels. Lenneth curses her inability to use her powers of flight in a dungeon.

SnowFire
Okay, let's break it down.

Mario & Peach are strong contenders and easily take the experience crown here. They've got some issues in their dinky firepower here (pulling herbs out of the ground? Shooting tiny fireballs?), but it wouldn't be wise to count 'em out.

Mega Man & Zero? Well, they might finish strong after they've sucked up the powers of the enemies like the robotic vampires they are, but Mega Man has that slow start thing crimping his style. And Mega Man's mobility was always kind of eh as far as high jumps and the like. I'm thinking long shot here.

Jude (& Dean?) can't swim, as attested to every time they jump into the water. They're an autoloss vs. the water stage. (At least robots & the undead don't need to breathe, and Mario... well, who knows how Mario manages it.) Shame, because Accelerator is nice for winning on time here, if Dean can keep up.

That leaves... Lenneth & Alicia? Yeah, being able to toss ice crystals across half the level and teleport there strikes me as a pretty huge advantage. Along with freezing any enemy and hopping on them, Metroid-style. And Limited Lives? Aside from being built for battle better than most everyone else here, Lenneth dying is just an annoyance on the time clock. If the stages are tough enough that everyone starts dying, they'll keep coming back.

I'm going to have to give this one to the Valkyries.

Djinn
The sheer versatility of Photons/Ice Crystals overcomes so many of the problems of normal platforming that I'd give the match to the Valkyries. Given enough time, they could take just about any platforming challenge without danger.

Lezard Valeth
Sometimes the ability to cheat like switching places with your foes or freezing them and using them as a platform or even using ice to build your own platform allows you to trump even the most season platformer veterans.

Yes it's a cheat but since the judges consider them to be legit, what are you going to do about it?

Pyro
Jumping and slowing time is well and good, but teleporting and wall climbing trump it out rather badly.

The Valks claim victory.

Hunter Sopko
YOUTHFUL SPIRIT! Jude and Dean make up for experience (and intelligence) with sheer drive and resolve!

Oh yes, the ability to stop time.
